Company #1 Practices

Every Thursday night from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm the Rossland Fire Fighters hold practice to stay mentally and physically sharp and prepared to handle any situation. Ongoing testing and certification programs are the keys to measuring fire fighters aptitudes and response to protocol. Courses and programs offered to the fire fighters include:

  • IFSTA Essential Training Programs - training to BC fire fighters standard using IFSTA Essential Curriculum Package.
  • New Recruit Training through the Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Service
  • Justice Institute First Responder Program
  • Class 5 with air brakes
  • Search and Rescue
  • Wild land Fire Certification
  • SCBA Certification
  • Officer Training
  • Incident command operations
  • MVA Extrication
  • Fire prevention and suppression
  • Regional Fire fighter Training Programs through Selkirk College
